Pharmaceutical Centralized Clean-In-Place (CIP) Systems
In similar fashion to pharmaceutical facilities, animal health facilities are a highly regulated and monitored business. These facilities adhere to the same guidelines as a pharmaceutical facility, and in many ways, the differences between the two are blurred at best.
Central States Industrial (CSI) was approached by an engineering firm to provide clean-in-place (CIP) systems for a large greenfield (previously undeveloped) animal health facility. These CIP systems required fabrication practices that followed Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers: Bioprocessing Equipment (ASME-BPE) standards.
CSI engineers and project managers took the customer supplied process and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) and created three identical fully functional CIP systems complete with controls and platforms. Each skid had three 900 liter vessels and a pump to provide 50 gpm and 82 psig. The systems were built to the desired specifications, on time and on budget.
