AGC Twin Spindle Heat Exchanger
AGC's manual twin spindle line of frames is ideal for those who want to improve production uptime but do not require an automated open and close mechanism. Manual twin spindle frames typically open/close in half the time compared to similar-sized tie-bar frames. In addition, twin spindle frames close evenly, and side-to-side variability is removed with centered top/bottom spindles. This even closure extends the unit's life for improved total cost of ownership.
AGC's innovative heat exchanger design has made it the leading provider of sanitary heat exchange products in North America. Whether you're starting from scratch, replacing obsolete equipment, or expanding your current system, AGC has the best technology to offer.

Application
AGC heat exchangers are made in the USA, offer operating pressures up to 200 PSIG (AR51-M), and are skillfully crafted to 3A sanitary standards. AGC heat exchangers are found in many food, dairy, and beverage applications.
AGC's twin spindle plate and frame heat exchangers have available solutions, from brewing and liquid eggs to prepared foods or utility applications.
Working Principle
Gasketed plate and frame heat exchangers consist of a pack of corrugated metal plates with portholes for the passage of two fluids between which heat transfer will occur. The plate pack is assembled between a frame plate and a pressure plate and compressed by tightening bolts. The plates are fitted with a gasket that seals the channel and directs the fluids into alternate channels. The flow rate, physical properties of the fluids, pressure drop, and temperatures required determine the number of plates. The plate corrugations promote fluid turbulence and support the plates against differential pressure.
Frame Design
The plates and the pressure plate are suspended from an upper carrying bar and positioned with a lower guiding bar, both fixed to the support column. The frame is designed for mounting on a floor only. Standard feet are fixed. One unit can contain several heat exchangers separated by connection plates with interchangeable connections.
Plate Design
AGC's ProFlow series plates are engineered to have a widened inlet design, which better accommodates viscous food applications. This less restrictive flow path results in reduced pressure drops. Energy savings with reduced pressure drops allow for higher CIP flow rates at similar pressure loss, resulting in a better cleaning response.
Distribution pattern with line contact points provides strength and minimize contact point damage. In addition, it distributes viscous products to the outer edge of the plate to maximize heat transfer and minimize channeling.
