Axiflow STS Standard Series Pumps
The Axiflow Technologies STS Standard Series of pumps consists of four primary pump sizes. Each pump size has up to five different screw pitches which gives flexibility to customize each pump specifically for individual application.
All Standard Series pumps are available in standard 3-A and European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG) design, as well as aseptic design. Pressure ratings on the standard series pumps range from 175 psi to 350 psi (differential) depending upon screw pitch.
Models
- STSC 50 (C-face)
- STS 70
- STSC 70 (C-face)
- STS 90
- STSC 90 (C-face)
- STS 125
The smallest STSC50 size is only available is a C-face connection. The STS70 and STS90 are available in both C-faced connection or bare shaft with coupling. The largest pump, the STS125, is only available in bare shaft with coupling design.
Standard Design
The Axiflow Twin Screw design enables the pump to run at a wider range of speeds than nearly all positive displacement (PD) pumps on the market. One pump can be sized to handle a wide range of viscosities. It used to take several pumps to accomplish what the Axiflow pump can handle alone.
With a wet end and bearing housing machined completely out of 316L billet stainless steel, the Axiflow pump can perform under an extreme range of temperature swings. The Axiflow pump does not have “hot clearance” and “cold clearance” rotors, because the entire pump expands and contracts together.
PUMP SPEEDS
The Axiflow Twin Screw pumps can run at speeds up to 4,000 rpm. Typical rotary lobe, circumferential piston, and progressive cavity pumps are limited to 600 rpm. This ability to run at such a wide range of speeds enables the Axiflow pump to perform process, as well as clean-in-place (CIP).
With high suction capability, the ability to run dry for hours, low shear pumping capability, delicate handling of soft solids up to 1.625 inches, and the ability to deliver a smooth, non-pulsing, repeatable product flow, the Axiflow pump is capable of pumping product viscosities at a range of 1 to 1,000,000 cps, operating at pump speeds up to 4,000 rpm, and operating at product temperatures up to 425°F. These capabilities greatly reduce the wear on the pump and the need to purchase spare parts, giving Axiflow pumps a low total cost of ownership (TCO).
Screw Pitches
Each pump size offers a wide range of screw pitches. The screw pitch is the distance from flight to flight. With tighter screw pitches we can handle higher pressures. With larger screw pitches, we can achieve higher flowrates and delicately handle larger soft solids.
In the table, the screw pitches are in mm. Take this number and divide it by two, and that is the particle size that can gently be pumped.

The Axiflow pump has high suction capabilities and low net positive suction head (NPSH) requirements, making it an ideal fit for long suction lines and vessels that are difficult to completely empty. It is able to run dry indefinitely, without damaging pump or seals, although certain seal arrangements are required. The Axiflow pump is ideal for removing ingredients from drums, totes, and bag in a box and has the ability to pump products with up to 60% entrained air.

Axiflow Technologies offers a C-face motor connection for most pump designs and sizes. The motor is self-aligning and can give any company a much smaller footprint, saving anywhere from twelve to thirty inches in space.
